Continuous Monitoring with Fixed Gas Detection

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

In order to monitor the concentration of gas in an area and detect gas leaks a fixed gas detection system is typically installed. A system such as this prevents harmful gases damaging the environment, saves on operational costs and most importantly maximises the safety of staff and the public alike. (more…)

Functions of gas detectors.

Gas detectors can be used to detect a wide variety of gases. Typical gases that need to be monitored include, refrigerants, volatile organic compounds, combustibles and toxic gases.

Refrigerants are any gases that are used in cooling systems such as air conditioning units, refrigerators and freezers. Apart from the danger leaking refrigerants pose to the environment they can also result in a loss of revenue and potentially damage to stock and property. (more…)

Keeping check on refrigerant leaks with a fixed gas detection system.

With proper maintenance refrigeration systems should be expected to last twenty years or more before needing to be replaced. However, that doesn’t mean a fixed gas detection system does not need to be in place. It can be easy to overlook a small discrepancy or to miss a loose fitting especially in a large commercial refrigeration facility. It need not be an oversight on the part of maintenance that causes a leak either. (more…)

Gas Detectors save lives not just money

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

If you are reading this, then it is likely that you are working in an environment where gas is present.  If you are such a person, then you know exactly how important it is to have a gas detector.  A gas leak of any form is extremely dangerous and the only way to prevent any actual damage from happening is when you have installed an appropriate gas detector that can measure accurately how much gas is in the area. Continuous Gas Monitoring Systems

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Real-time gas detection using remote sensors – offering continuous monitoring – can offer a better solution than conventional air sampling – aspirated – sampling systems.

Continuous gas monitoring allows for every sampling point (gas leak sensor) to be monitored at all times therefore the concentration of gas shown on the display reflects the actual situation at that point – at any given moment.

The benefits of continuous Gas monitoring through fixed gas detector units are many;

A fixed gas detector prevents chaos for factory workers

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

In Dandenong South, a drama unfolded early one morning when a factory was abruptly evacuated; a gas leak detector had sensed (in time) a possible life-threatening substance leak. One of the managing directors of the company noted that the signal was activated quite shortly after 8am when the factory was in full operation and thanks to the early warning over thirty staff members managed to safely evacuate the Dandenong-Frankston Road premises.
